staring into the mirror.
historically the tintyping processs was primarily used for very formal staged portraits. i wanted to move away from that rigidity by bringing the subject almost uncomfortably close and having the camera function similarly to a mirror.
this concept in tandem with the unpredictability of tintypes plays on the idea of staring into a mirror until what you see becomes skewed in some way.
